ITA Airways and Volare have enter into agreements with 4 airlines of the Lufthansa Group: Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines. The mutual agreements entered into at this stage regarding earning and using points will not imply the entry of ITA Airways into the Star Alliance.

As per the Regulations, the Volare program will continue to run until December 31, 2025.

Έτοιμη για Star Alliance η Ιταλιδα!

ITA Airways has officially received approval to begin the integration process into Star Alliance, following a decision by the Star Alliance Chief Executive Board (CEB). This milestone comes as ITA Airways strengthens its position within the Lufthansa Group, further solidifying its role in Europe’s aviation market.

The onboarding process is now underway, with ITA Airways expected to become a full Star Alliance member in early 2026.

“The decision by our Chief Executive Board underscores the strong confidence our members have in ITA Airways,” said Star Alliance Chief Executive Officer Theo Panagiotoulias. “As a gateway to Italy, its addition strengthens our global network, offering seamless and connected journeys to more travelers worldwide.”
